A Month of Family Study Abroad — A Japanese Family's Google Review

A shopping mall decorated with Christmas trees and a HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2026 sign

A Japanese family of three reviews their month at HANA Academy on Google Maps: lots of other families, a preschool class with daily photos, group lessons with students from many countries and weekend outings around Clark. Translated in full.

This is a review a Japanese family of three, who studied at HANA Academy for about a month, left on Google Maps. Below is a full translation of the original Japanese text.

Our family of three, a couple and our child, studied at HANA Academy for about a month. Besides studying English, we took on new challenges as a family, forgot about our busy daily lives and spent precious time together. 【An environment with lots of families studying abroad】 Many families come to study here from Korea and China, so even with a small child we didn't have to worry about how others saw us and could relax, which was great. There were about 8 children in the preschool class, and our child was able to make lots of friends. During our stay, ours was the only Japanese family, so our child didn't rely on Japanese and actively communicated in English. It made us very happy to see our child playing happily with friends in English. It was also great that the kindergarten teachers sent us lots of photos and videos every day. We could see how our child was doing, so we could attend our own classes with peace of mind. 【Classes and international exchange】 The teachers were kind, and in the one-on-one classes they taught carefully at my own level. What left the strongest impression was the group lessons. With students from many countries, such as Korea, China, Saudi Arabia and Russia, we talked about a wide range of topics, from our futures to the worries we have now. Besides learning English, I got to see how ways of thinking differ from country to country, and at the same time the values we have in common. It was a very stimulating experience. Being away from Japan, in an environment where I couldn't communicate without using English, was also a great motivation for studying English. 【Fulfilling days off and family time】 Around the school there are lots of places children can enjoy, such as a dinosaur theme park (Dinosaurs Island), a zoo (Clark Safari and Adventure Park), a large shopping mall (SM City Clark), a water park (Aqua Planet) and a park with aircraft on display (Air Force City Park). On weekdays we focused on studying English, and on days off we went out to all sorts of places as a family. Being able to spend so much time together as a family was another big attraction of this study trip. 【Overall】 It was a month in which we gained so much: not only better English, but also our child's growth, exchanges with people from many countries and family memories. To the teachers and staff, thank you so much!
